Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar (plus more for rolling)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Pinch of salt
Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Make the Dough: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, then mix in the flour until the dough forms. Stir in the chopped nuts, if using.
3️⃣ Shape the Cookies: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
4️⃣ Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cookies are set and just starting to lightly brown at the bottom. Let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet.
5️⃣ Coat with Sugar: While the cookies are still warm, roll them in powdered sugar to coat. For an extra snowy look, roll them again in powdered sugar once they are completely cool.
6️⃣ Enjoy: Serve these delicate cookies with a warm drink, or pack them in a festive tin to share with family and friends!
